New technologies at BIAT: a solid ground for growth :

Since I took office as the new general manager of BIAT, I have noticed with great satisfaction that the institution I am in charge of is well conscious of the strong driving effects of the new information and communication technologies on its development. This consciousness, as I could easily notice, led BIAT to a strong implication in the field of technologies, confirming thereby its reputation in the market of an innovating and leading bank.

This choice, resolutely made by my predecessors and to which I completely adhere, is by no means the result of an isolated decision. It is indeed a choice dictated by the technological revolution which is presently taking place and which is having on us, not only as individuals but as bankers as well, economic, social and cultural effects.

We therefore all agree that our era is dominated by services in general and by the so called knowledge and intangible economy in particular.

Ineluctably, this new environment is having influence on our customers in their expectations, requirements and ultimately in their behaviour. This situation obviously needs to be taken into account as in the near future, our customers will certainly require their transactions being carried out when, where and the way they want.

For all these considerations, no wonder that within our bank the large outstanding in-house projects are of technological nature; indeed, substantial parts of our resources are allocated in the “revamping” process of our information system concomitantly to the continuation of our efforts to develop new tools and products in the area of direct banking.

Our intention is to definitely take advantage of the new ground for growth offered by the New Technologies of information and Communication. This new ground will not only allow us to defend our leadership status within the Tunisian banking system but to upgrade our offer of products and banking services as well, in conformity with international standards. We owe that I believe to our customers.

BIAT's successful path at this stage confirms that we are in the right direction. Technology as a ground for growth will therefore legitimately continue to guide our priorities of development for the years to come in the best interest of our customers and shareholders.
